Habits develop often as a replacement for anxiety, stress, worries, etc.  Whereas at one point they may have acted (or so we think) to relieve stress, we eventually realize that they really don’t so that at some point we don’t want them anymore.  Eliminating habits is a common reason people come in for hypnotherapy
